[Day 5] Navigator of the Seas - Christmas Day in Aruba

Merry Christmas from Aruba!!

Balcony Breakfst

For Christmas morning we decided to DIY our own balcony breakfast. I ordered an accidentally exorbitant amount of room service. See below something which resembles "Instagram v. Reality".

The amount of food I ordered was intended for four people. But it looks like so much more because they put covers on individual plates. They should just offer a breakfast platter - it sure would cut down on dishes!

Every time we are in Aruba, we do the same thing, which is go to Eagle Beach.  But we always seem to end up in a different part of Eagle Beach.  Never been to this beach with the colorful umbrellas before...

If I am incorrect in what I say, Rachel will text me and let me know.  But I believe that two chairs and an umbrella were $40.  We got four chairs and two umbrellas, which would turn out to be a very good thing.

Here comes the rain....

It would rain for awhile, then clear up for a minute, then the rain would come back.  There was a time when it was really pouring.  So it's a good thing we had the umbrellas to hide underneath.

We waited for a clear and went back to the ship.

The Windjammer is really not great.  It's weird because the food options they have don't seem to make a planned meal.  None of the sides really went together - every plate I made was just a smorgasbord of random sides.

Our ship was in port until midnight tonight, and Rachel had the brilliant idea to do a sunset cruise excursion.

The cruise was on a real sail boat!

The crew was really excellent.

Rachel snagged a large lounge bed in the back corner.

It was open bar.  They had hard liquor, and also a cooler with wine and beer.  And then after sunset, they served wings, which I think was the best thing I ate all week.

The crew was outstanding.  It was super cool to watch them work the rigs - we were really sailing!

We returned to the ship in time to change for our late seating dinner.

We ended our evening upstairs in the Viking Crown Lounge, which is open to the public after 8, but serves as the Diamond/Concierge Lounge from 5-8.  This might have changed if they added a designated Diamond/Concierge Lounge after drydock... I'm not sure.
