Stove's Birthday Trip | WDW [Day 3] Hollywood Studios & Epcot

On our third day, we had a bit of a delayed start since we were out so late at Magic Kingdom the night before. I had purchased Lightning Lane Multipass to use at both Hollywood Studios and Epcot, but we ran into a bit of an issue where when modifying reservation times, it would only move my reservation and not everyone else's. We realized the only way to get this sorted out was to go into the park and talk to the Guest Experiences team.

We ate breakfast at the Boardwalk Deli, then after arguing about the best way to get to Hollywood Studios, we decided to walk because that is the shortest route.

It was very crowded at Hollywood Studios.... that park doesn't handle crowds well. Aaron, Stove, and I rode Star Tours while Rachel and Judy sat it out.

After talking to the Guest Experiences team about Multipass, they were able to fix our reservations for me so we all had the same return time. I didn't feel like I got great return out of the Multipass... not sure I would do it again. We were able to ride Rockin' Rollercoaster, Tower of Terror, and Toy Story Mania. I unfortunately could not get a Slinky Dog Dash reservation (it's nearly impossible!).

We went to the Brown Derby Lounge for drinks and bites because it was HOT. While we were there, it started pouring down rain, so we waited it out under an umbrella.

Aaron really wanted to see Indiana Jones, so I made a multipass reservation.... only to find out that it had been canceled because of the rain. So then we went to ride Toy Story Mania, then got some adult lemonade from Andy's Lunch Box.

It was time to hop over to Epcot. We had a dinner reservation that night at Garden Grill.

We stopped by the Moroccan Pavilion for pre-dinner sangria.

I had a 40% cast discount at Garden Grill which is why we decided to go for another character meal. It's been several years since we've eaten at Garden Grill. A bit to our surprise, we had a great experience! We enjoyed the food, and it seemed like a great deal with the 40% discount. The character interactions here are great - we saw each of the characters three times. Also, the spinning restaurant concept is always fun! If you're looking for a character dining meal, don't sleep on Garden Grill!

It was raining after dinner, but that didn't stop us from watching Luminous. Perhaps due to the rain, we were able to snag a spot right before showtime at UK Lochside.

After fireworks, Rachel convinced me to go to Jellyrolls Dueling Piano Bar on the Boardwalk. I'm glad we did because after nearly 30 years on the Boardwalk, Jellyrolls will be closing on April 20.

Fun little surprise we learned on this trip.... two nights, we hung out by Joe's Margaritas late in the evening, and both times, the Cast Members closing down Joe's gave us the leftover beer cheese pretzels.

Landon arrived that night. I was determined to save him money on Uber (~$100), I booked him on the Mears shuttle for $16 from MCO to the Boardwalk. I guess since it was late in the evening, he was in a smaller van rather than the big bus, and it was just him and one other family. So maybe a little awkward.... but he didn't have to spend $100 on an Uber! I thought it was a great deal. Landon, however, may have preferred to part with his money.
