Rachel's Bachelorette Cruise | Allure of the Seas [Day 3] Perfect Day CocoCay

On our third and final day on Allure of the Seas, we woke up at Perfect Day CocoCay, Royal Caribbean's private island! This was my view from the bed upstairs -

[Day 4] Freedom of the Seas - Perfect Day Coco Cay (Round 2!)

Guest Post by Rachel Shingleton

Time for another…lovely day, lovely day, lovely day at Coco Cay!

We started off the day by taking advantage of one of our Suite Perks – breakfast at Chops! I’m not much of a breakfast person, but this food was GOOD! Look at those eggs. Definitely not from a carton.

While eating breakfast we observed one of the Covid protocols that had been driving me and Judy crazy. As one would expect, every other table in restaurants and lounges is marked as unavailable for social distancing purposes. The unavailable tables are marked with these highly visible tents –

[Day 2| Part 2] Freedom of the Seas - Perfect Day CocoCay and Giovanni’s Kitchen

Guest Post by Rachel Shingleton

After spending the first part of our day at Thrill Waterpark, we ventured out around 2:30pm to explore the rest of the island.

We started off with the Oasis Lagoon Pool. Oasis Lagoon is the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean and features a zero-depth entry, in-water loungers, and a swim-up bar. We made our way in at the zero-depth entry.

We knew we wanted to use one of our Diamond Vouchers at the swim-up bar, so we waded over to order the CocoCay specialty – a Coco Loco. This is where it happened. I got bamboozled into buying the souvenir cup. The thing is, I knew the Coco Loco in a souvenir cup would not be covered by my Diamond Voucher, but the little devil in a hula skirt on my shoulder kept saying “just do it, Rachel. You need that souvenir cup. Think about how much dust it will collect in the back of your cabinet.” I’ll claim it was research, but I think I subconsciously wanted the dang cup. To be fair, I ordered the Coco Loco with no souvenir cup, but then the bartender got me with “it’s only $1 extra for the cup!” So, there I was $15 later with my vibrant orange cup and 4 Diamond Vouchers still to use.

[Day 2| Part 1] Freedom of the Seas - Thrill Water Park at Perfect Day CocoCay

Guest Post by Rachel Shingleton

Sing it with me!
Lovely day, lovely day, lovely day at CocoCay! Those who have visited Perfect Day CocoCay already have the song stuck in their head now. You’re welcome! For those who haven’t – Perfect Day CocoCay has its very own theme song to the tune of Lovely Day by Bill Withers. It is quite catchy, but am I the only one who wishes they would’ve use Perfect Day by Hoku instead? I mean after all, it’s not called Lovely Day CocoCay 😉

I woke up in time to see us pulling up to the pier at CocoCay, and I was surprised (okay, a bit annoyed) to see the Adventure of the Seas already docked. When I was trying to decide which day to purchase our Thrill Waterpark passes, I checked Cruise Mapper to see if we would be sharing CocoCay with any other ships. Cruise Mapper showed us being the only ship there on Tuesday, and we would be joined by the Mariner of the Seas on Thursday. I actually went back and double-checked to make sure I didn’t read it wrong –

I know from reading other Cruise Critic trip reports that the Adventure of the Seas does back-to-back days at CocoCay. For whatever reason, Cruise Mapper only shows her there on the first of those two days.

“What are they doing here?!” -Judy

I’ll go ahead and say it – sharing the island with the Adventure had no impact on our Perfect Day. The island still felt prettyyy empty!
